The Insource Health Business Intelligence (BI) solution provides the framework which enables all of your existing systems to work together. Insource Health BI is capable of taking data from any source that you already possess and turning it into information that is consistent, accurate, easy to use and readily accessible.
Insource ESR BI is a workforce and payroll reporting and analysis solution
that enables Trusts to get a significant insight into data held within ESR relating to its staff
which can account for up to 70% of the trust’s overall budget. The solution will enable more accurate measurement of key indicators such as absenteeism, vacancies and the use of agency staff.
Once the data is brought into your data warehouse it is possible to query the data to produce permutations of reports which are not easily available from your core ESR. The transformation contained within the Insource ESR BI will enable you to slice and dice reports by any of the elements in the data model for example: leavers by sex / ethnic origin etc, positions by Grade/ business unit / assignment type sex / age etc.
It is also possible to link ESR data to data held in your data warehouse from other systems, for example Finance and PAS activity systems, which is not possible using Discoverer queries that are provided with your core ESR. Employee Assignment details
This dataset includes details of all employee assignments. This data has been processed to provide information as at any given point in time and takes into account changes to positions, employee contracted hours, assignment details and other related data that changes over time. This level of granularity of data is not possible to obtain via the Discoverer reporting tool provided with your core ESR.

Employee Assignment Monthly snapshot
This dataset provides a census based snapshot of employee assignments and, therefore, staff in post and associated costing details. These snapshots allow both historic and trended reports to be produced quickly and easily.

Employee Leavers
This dataset provides details of leavers, when and why they left and the positions they left. Again, this dataset allows both historic and trended reports to be produced quickly and easily.

Employee Absence
This dataset provides details of employee absence, allocating absence periods to the positions to which the employee was assigned to at the date of the absence.
Additionally there are datasets that combine the above datasets which will enable you to analyse staff turnover and absence measured against staff in post snapshot details. This allows questions such as:
- What % of our total manpower available was lost due to sickness in a given month/year for a given directorate / department / grade / position type etc?

Assignment Costing
Holds the financial coding to which an employee assignment belongs (is related) to in terms of both the department and cost centre.

Contains details of business units within the Trust.

Contains the Business Unit Hierarchy which is in place within the Trust

Employee
Holds the basic demographic data relating to members of staff both current and archived. A single record per employee is provided.

Contains multiple records per employee assignment, duplicates within the assignment number will be created on each change to the FTE, grade step, and pay increment within the assignment.
