ImplementationInsource maintains a structured approach to delivering information management solutions through the implementation stage of the project. Deploying a solution within the enterprise can be undertaken in two ways when we are involved; either hand over the entire phase of the project to Insource or conduct it as a partnership, combining resources from both sides to bring the solutions to fruition. Bringing together people in this way needs a very structured methodology, we at Insource use ISDM, which enables the breakdown of the implementation stage into discrete project elements and individual work packages, defined within the Architectural Design phase. This enables the close management and control of each of the project elements, many of which can be run in parallel, and run by a Senior Technical Lead, and overseen by a Senior Technical Architect, who will have been instrumental in the design phase working closely with a seasoned project manager. This method and combination of people enable the project to be broken down and build in small manageable components, but joined up within the whole project. Although a solution should be implemented in accordance to the agreed project plan it is inevitable that amendments are required, perhaps as a result of revisions elsewhere in the enterprise. In order to accommodate these situations all proposed changes are logged within the Insource Change Request template, and then implemented at the end of the specification work. If the change is more fundamental - for example the solution requires it to function - then it is effected earlier in the scheme. An Insource implementation is always taken towards full release after thorough testing, and will typically experience two Beta stages before Final sign off.
